The average time to detect an incident, and to resolve it.

Definition

What it actually means.

MTTD measures monitoring quality; MTTR measures response capability. Both should be tracked per severity level. Best-in-class: MTTD < 5 min for sev-1, MTTR < 60 min for sev-1.
